Lowering Blood Pressure

Lowering Blood Pressure

Recently I was talking to a patient of my San Diego Chiropractic clinic about a Nutribullet they had recently purchased and I decided to try it out for myself.  During the same time frame, I read a short article in my Men’s Fitness magazine about lowering blood pressure with the cold Spanish soup, gazpacho. The only reasonable thing to do with my two new discoveries was to do a merge – make gazpacho in my Nutribullet.

Recipe for Lowering Blood Pressure

Lowering Blood PressureThe recipe for gazpacho is simple without the bullet and simpler yet with it.  I combined about four one inch thick slices of cucumber, one half of a Roma tomato, one half of a green bell pepper, one garlic clove, a handful of cilantro, a few basil leaves, two tablespoons of virgin olive oil and a teaspoon of red wine vinegar into my Nutribullet with about a half cup of spring water and then turned the power on.

In about a minute, the mixture that I put into the bullet was a smooth green mix that, by the way, is delicious.  I drink one of these gazpacho mixtures once a day and the effect on my blood pressure was excellent.  Prior to adding this drink to my daily routine, my blood pressure was in the 125/85 range.  After the first few DAYS of drinking my Nutribullet gazpacho my pressure dropped into the 115/74 range and has been there for months.

One of the long term patients of my San Diego Chiropractic practice has struggled with hypertension for at least 10 years so I felt as though I had to share this drink with her.  After very little coaxing, she bought herself a bullet and started doing the daily gazpacho thing.  Just as was my experience, her blood pressure dropped from the 155/90 range (while controlled with meds) down to the 115/70 range.  She is beyond pleased and will most likely be able to reduce or eliminate her blood pressure medication after her next doctor’s appointment.  She is excited about the long term benefits of lowering blood pressure without drugs

While these successes are only two and anecdotal, they are compelling.  If you struggle with high blood pressure and want to try a natural solution – and you like gazpacho – you should give this recipe a try.  I think that you will be pleasantly surprised.
